Pet Friendly Activities near the Great Smoky Mountains

We thought we would put together a list of Pet Friendly things for you to do with your dog in the area.

Rainbow Falls

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park:
There are only two paths in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that are Pet Friendly.  The Gatlinburg Trail and the Ocenaluftee Trail.  The Gatlinburg Trail starts at the Sugarlands Visitor center and takes a walk along a little stream.  The Ocenaluftee Trail is on the NC side of the park.  If you venture out onto that side of the park.  I would recommend hitting the Mingus Mill and Clingman’s Dome on the way back.  The view from the parking area at Clingman’sDome is just as impressive as the view at the top of the dome (So you don’t have to leave your dog in the car alone).  These two spots are not pet friendly.  But may be able to take a peak quickly.
There are also a couple driving tours that you can experience with your pet.  There is the Roaring Fork Motor Trail and Cades Cove. Keep in mid that you need to have your pet leashed and the leash cannot exceed 6 feet.  Pets are also permitted in Campgrounds, picnic areas and on the roadways.

Parks in Sevier County:
There is a Walking trail in Pigeon Forge called Riverwalk Greenway. Located on the banks of the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River.  Next to the Island
